Holy Name Faith Formation
serves the parishes of St. Boniface Garner
and St. Wenceslaus Duncan. Through the help and support
of parents and dedicated catechists, the following
programs are available:
Grade Level
Faith Formation
From September through April,
kindergarten through 12th grade youth meet in classes
held on Wednesday nights. Children in grades K-6th meet
from 6:30-7:30 P.M. Teens in grades 7-12 meet from

Sacramental
Preparation
First Reconciliation:
Children, who have been receiving religious instruction
for one year, are eligible to prepare for the sacrament
of First Reconciliation as early as their 2nd grade
year. Parents are expected to assist in making a
determination as to their child’s readiness. First
Reconciliation is celebrated in December or as child is
sufficiently prepared.
First Communion:
Children, who have been receiving religious instruction
for one year, are eligible to prepare for the sacrament
of First Communion as early as their 2nd grade year.
Parents are expected to assist in making a determination
as to their child’s readiness. First Communion is
scheduled in the spring at a weekend Mass or as child is
sufficiently prepared.
Confirmation:
Teens, who have been receiving regular
religious instruction, are eligible to prepare for the
sacrament of Confirmation in their 10th grade year.
Parents are expected to assist in making a determination
as to their child’s readiness. Confirmation is
scheduled in the spring as per the schedule of the
Archbishop or Episcopal Vicar.

Liturgy of
the Word with Children
From September through
Pentecost, young children are invited to participate at
the 10:00 A.M. Mass at St. Boniface. Children are
dismissed and go with adults to the Spiritual Room to
hear the Word proclaimed and explained in
age-appropriate language. Returning to their families in
church, children bring an age appropriate bulletin for
parents to read with them at home.
